'Captain America: Civil War' — Behind the Scenes of the Next Marvel Blockbuster

Chris Evans (Captain America)

We're guessing those glasses aren't part of Cap's regulation uniform, but this is the first look at Evans in costume on set in Atlanta on May 15. The outdoor scene attracted photographers and fans.

Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow)

Scarlett Johansson doesn't need to be in her Black Widow getup to get in on the 'Civil War' action.

Anthony Mackie (Falcon)

Featuring a costume upgrade from 'Winter Soldier,' Anthony Mackie returns as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Cap's stalwart pal and newly minted Avenger. He's seen here on a break in shooting on May 15.

Frank Grillo (Crossbones)

In 'Winter Soldier,' Frank Grillo played lethal S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Brock Rumlow. Here is the first glimpse of him in the guise of Crossbones, a major Marvel villain who plays a key role in the events of 'Civil War.' On his Instagram, Grillo posted a pic of him in costume ominously captioned, "I will find you. All of you."

Anthony Mackie and Double

Before he can take wing, Falcon (sans CGI wings) huddles with his stunt double during filming of action sequence on May 15.

Up, Up, and Away

The Falcon (here it's Mackie's double) lands with the help of a harness rig. The wires will be digitally erased and the wings digitally added in postproduction.

Sticking the Landing

Anthony Mackie strikes a pose as Falcon. Look, no wires!

Captain America on the Run

Chris Evans, in full Cap gear, races through a crowd and over some cars during a chase scene. The Atlanta location has seemingly been transformed into an African street.

Slip 'n' Slide

Cap executes an acrobatic maneuver across the top of a car. This scene appears to be set in Africa (some of the extras are dressed in traditional garb and one in the top left corner is carrying a basket on her head) — most likely Wakanda, the fictional country ruled by T'Challa, aka Black Panther.

Star-Spangled Smile

Chris Evans and company stare at something off-camera. The unknown menace will presumably be added via CGI.

Sebastian Stan

Sebastian Stan, back as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, posted this image on Instagram of him on the soundstage in Atlanta with the caption: "Having a weekend!"

Cap Shaves

Chris Evans tweeted out this farewell message to his whiskers as filming commenced. Principal photography started April 30 at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta. In addition to location filming in and around the city, the production will visit Germany, Puerto Rico, and Iceland.

'Captain America: Civil War' Teaser Art

The sequel to 'Winter Soldier' and 'Age of Ultron' is so jam-packed with heroes we've dubbed it 'Almost Avengers.' Among the super cast: Chris Evans (Steve Rogers/Captain America) along with Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/Falcon), Paul Bettany (The Vision), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton/Hawkeye), Don Cheadle (Jim Rhodes/War Machine), Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch), Paul Rudd (Scott Lang/Ant-Man), and Chadwick Boseman (T'Challa/Black Panther).
